Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is world's second largest fast food restaurant chain (in terms of Sales) after McDonald's with ~20,000 locations globally across 123 countries. It specializes in fried chicken and is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, United States from wherein it derives its name. It was founded in 1930 by Harland Sanders, an entrepreneur who began selling fried chicken from his roadside restaurant by the name of 'Sanders Court & Cafe' in Corbin, Kentucky. The first franchised store with its present name KFC was opened in 1952 in Utah.
